Whale of a Sale - Canceled

2020 Whale of a Sale Canceled
A Message from RCDS:

The health and safety of The Rumson Country Day School community, students, their families, faculty, and staff is a top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, RCDS has made the decision to cancel The Whale of a Sale originally slated for Friday, April 24-Sunday, April 26, in addition to Whale of a Sale drop-off events on April 18-19.

We believe this is the right decision to proactively limit congregate settings in order to be as safe as possible during these rapidly changing circumstances. We will continue to make decisions about upcoming school events on a case-by-case basis, using guidelines and the latest information from local and national health authorities.

In the meantime, the committee is brainstorming creative ways to preserve the tradition of Whale of Sale initiatives that serve those who rely on the event and to raise funds for the Tuition Assistance Fund. These details will be shared as soon as possible.

The 51st Annual Whale of a Sale
Each spring The Rumson Country Day School hosts its Annual Rummage Sale, popularly known as “Whale of a Sale”. One of the most important fundraisers at RCDS, the sale raises proceeds devoted to the tuition assistance program in addition to benefiting other local charities. A true group effort, the entire RCDS community works together to collect, sort and display an impressive collection of donated items – from boutique treasures to household and family necessities that excite hundreds of local shoppers.
