Who is Jayne Carmody?
“I have no doubt that, with the thoughtful, well-laid-out plans RCDS has developed, The Carmody School will become a leader for learning disability programs, not just in the immediate area but throughout New Jersey and beyond. I am overjoyed to have been a part of the beginnings of this outstanding program and to be honored in this way.”

Naming this program after Jayne Carmody was a natural choice for our school. This is a logical recognition of Jayne's legacy at RCDS and her role in the creation of the School With In A School program, as well as her national reputation as an educator and, of course, her commitment to students with different learning styles.
As Head of the Lower School for thirty-three years and Director of Testing for thirty-seven, Jayne has helped generations of RCDS students to achieve academic success. A skilled and dedicated learning specialist, she has also assisted countless students with learning disabilities. Her involvement in the Middle States Association has been a valuable resource as well; as President of the Board of Trustees of Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (2007-2009, one of her many leadership roles at MSA), she has been able to meet some of the world’s leading educators and observe cutting edge programs at schools around the globe. In 2012, she was also named to the NJ Historical Commission by Governor Christie in honor of her educational accomplishments.
Jayne has played a key role in our school-within-a-school program since its inception. She has been delighted to see students regaining their confidence and enjoying success and she is excited by our plans for expansion.
