Each spring The Rumson Country Day School hosts its Annual Whale of a Sale, popularly known as "Rummage". One of the most renowned fundraisers at RCDS, the sale raises proceeds devoted to the tuition assistance program in addition to benefiting the surrounding community and local charities. A true group effort, the entire RCDS community works together to collect, sort and display an impressive collection of donated items – from boutique treasures to household and family necessities that excite hundreds of local shoppers.

Friends & Family Sale:

(Friends and family must present an entry ticket with $20 admission fee)
Public Sale
Saturday, April 5 | 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunday, April 6 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sunday is "$25 Fill Your Bag Sale" all day (Bags provided by RCDS).
2025 Donation
Guidelines
The RCDS community is so appreciative of your efforts and donations. We accept mostly any gently used clothing and household items. Thank you in advance for your support!
• Small Furniture: Small furniture must be gently used and in functional conditions; sofas, sectionals, upholstered chairs, rugs, runners, side tables, buffet tables, desks, coffee tables, garden stools, artwork, mirrors, chandeliers, floor lamps, etc.
*When in doubt whether small furniture and/or home decor item(s) will be accepted, please email rummage@rcds.org with a photo of the item(s) for review.*
• Women, Men, and Children's Clothing: t-shirts, blouses, coats, blazers, jacket, sweaters, fleece-wear, vests, suits, dresses, jeans, pants, shorts, skirts, etc.
• Women, Men, and Children's Accessories: shoes, boots, handbags, wallets, clutches, belts, gloves, hates, scarves, sunglasses, hair accessories, ties, bowties, pocket squares, etc.
• Kitchenware: flatware, glassware, mugs, bowls, plates, cutting boards, platters, etc.
• Outdoor and Sports Equipment: bikes, golf clubs, ski gear (no ski boots), hockey gear, cleats, soccer balls, footballs, miscellaneous exercise equipment, etc.
• Bric-A-Brac: wicker baskets, vases, tabletop frames, holiday decorations, office supplies, luggage, silk flowers, etc.
• Toys: fchildren's costumes, craft sets, dolls, barbies, games, puzzles, legos, plastic figures, matchbox cars, small and large plastic toys, etc.
Each year, there are donations that we are unable to accept. Please find these donation categories listed below.
• Any recalled items
• Any electronics
• Audio cassettes and VHS tapes
• Blankets and linens
• Broken frames, art or mirrors
• Helmets
• Bean bag chairs
• Books
• Bed Frames
• Bunk beds
• Drapes
• Halogen lamps without safety guards
• Hair dryers
• Loose hardware such as nails, screws or bolts
• Mattresses
• Paints, stains, varnishes, cleaners, pesticides, motor oil or car batteries
• Ski boots
• Venetian or vertical blinds
• Underwear
• Anything flammable such as gasoline/kerosene-filled lamps, matches or propane tanks
• Non BPA-free plastic items
Children's Clothes:
• Pajamas for babies and children
• Children's metal jewelry
• Robes
• Infant snowsuits
Children's toys:
• Light up toys
• Mini-trampolines
• Magnetic toys
• Toys intended for children under three years old
• Easy Bake Ovens or Polly Pocket toys
• No Stuffed Animals
• Bath toys and inflatable toys
• Painted wooden toys not in original packaging
Baby Items:
• All infant and child feeding articles including pacifiers
• All baby equipment: cribs, car seats, walkers, baby swings, non-jog strollers, baths
• Play yards

Furniture:
