Winter Virus Notice

Winter Virus Notice

Dear RCDS Parents,

As we head into the peak of the winter season, this is a reminder that Cold, Covid, Flu, and RSV viruses are circulating within our community. It is important that we work together to keep our students, faculty, and staff healthy.

Common colds and viruses can be very contagious. They spread easily among students in schools. Thus, families with school-age children tend to have more infections than others. To address this, our faculty is reminding our students about proper handwashing, covering their coughs with their elbows, and other ways to reduce the spread of disease. Our maintenance staff is disinfecting all commonly touched surfaces, classrooms, and bathrooms.

If your child has a worsening cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, or fever of 99.4 degrees or more, please keep them home. Have your child evaluated at the pediatrician's office, and please contact me with any absences that are related to illness.

Thank you and please reach out if you have any questions.
