Fall 2021 Session
Week of October 18-December 13

Classes will take place at RCDS, Monday and Wednesday for eight weeks and will be taught by RCDS faculty and guest instructors.* Registration is limited - 10 student maximum per class. Cost per eight-week session is $375. 

*Please note all RCDS employees, staff, and guest instructors have completed a background check.

STEAM Holiday Challenges
Grade 1
Mondays 3:30-4:40PM
Instructor:  Mrs. Bogdon

Students will create pumpkin catapults, make turkeys trot and reindeer fly and design their own menorah. In this interactive hour students will use science, technology, engineering, art and math to plan and then create and fine tune various fall and winter inspired STEAM challenges. They will plan, create, recreate if necessary and analyze their design for each challenge.

Novice to experienced chess players are welcome! Targeted skills include setting up the chess board, learning to move the pieces, discovering the basic rules, studying basic strategies and practicing playing lots of games.

The Education version of Minecraft is a fun way for students to explore, build and interact in the same world as their peers. Students will work together digging (mining) and building (crafting) a virtual world. All ability levels are welcome.

The Stock Market Game
Grade 4
Wednesdays 3:30-4:30PM
Instructor:  Mr. Utz

The Stock Market Game puts you in an investor’s shoes; allowing you the opportunity to manage a virtual $100,000 stock portfolio and invest in stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Each student will have their own account to execute trades in real time.
