After-School Athletics
Led by a strong team of well-educated and experienced teachers and coaches, the RCDS physical education and athletic programs help students to develop as young athletes and team players.
The after-school athletics program begins in fifth grade. Although the program is optional, more than 80% of our Upper School students participate, fielding more than ten teams a year. Our no-cut policy creates an inclusive environment and offers valuable experience in competitive sports for young athletes of all abilities to participate and try something new. Go Gators!

Physical Education
Formal physical education instruction begins in Pre-K, with two classes each week. Students in Beginners through eighth grade have gym classes four or five days a week. The program provides an ever-expanding variety of age-appropriate activities that teach physical fitness and athletic skills, self-discipline, and teamwork in a well-managed and safe environment.
