Head of School
Interim Head of School
For over ninety years Rumson Country Day School has been the safe and joyful community where children spend their most formative years and experience the sheer intrinsic satisfaction that comes from learning, doing tasks well and forming friendships. They grow from three-year-olds in the Early Childhood Center who learn to enjoy literature and understand the value of mathematics and play, to Lower School students who become readers, writers, independent thinkers, mathematicians and good friends, to competent and confident Upper School students who can stand before an adult audience to defend a thesis, view history through multiple perspectives and use their math and technology skills to solve problems.
On this journey students perform on stage, play on athletic teams, discover their artistic and musical abilities and engage in community service, all the while learning to collaborate, debate, help others, and apply their knowledge across subjects and disciplines.
Our RCDS students uphold the four values that the school has embraced for decades, and carry throughout life. They are Kind, Honest, Responsible and Respectful. The combination of academic skills and life skills is winning. The exceptional faculty at RCDS proudly uphold the School's mission as they form caring relationships with each student and provide encouragement and skills that will be the basis for future success. Our loyal alumni attest to the enduring difference of an education at RCDS, and our parents, both current and past, truly understand the value of an RCDS education as they watch their children grow into intelligent, articulate members of their community.
