The Rumson Country Day School was founded in 1926 as a not-for-profit, independent, non-sectarian, coeducational elementary school set on a 13.5-acre campus in Rumson, NJ. RCDS seeks to fill the following positions.

Faculty:

  • Early Childhood Education Teacher

​​​​​​The Rumson Country Day is seeking a teacher of Early Childhood Education. In addition to relevant education and experience, this teacher must evince a love of working with our youngest learners. A focus on child development, social/emotional growth and play based learning are equally important. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while a Master’s degree is desirable.   • Teacher of Physical Science

The Rumson Country Day is seeking a teacher of Physical Science, a required, laboratory course for all of our seventh graders. The primary qualifications for this appointment are a love of educating young adolescents and a passion for teaching.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physics/Chemistry, education, or a related field
  • Experience working with 10-14 year olds
  • A desire to work with students in and out of the classroom 
  • In addition to relevant content and pedagogical knowledge, this teacher will serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students. Our teachers also work with children beyond the classroom as activity sponsors, coaches, and trip leaders.

  • Elementary Art Teacher

The Rumson Country Day School seeks a teacher for the ArtDepartment.  The primary qualifications for this appointment are a love of educating young people and a passion for teaching. 

Requirements:

  • a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Art, education, or a related field
  • experience working with 4-14 year olds
  • a desire to work with students in and out of the classroom
