The Rumson Country Day School was founded in 1926 as a not-for-profit, independent, non-sectarian, coeducational elementary school set on a 13.5-acre campus in Rumson, NJ. RCDS seeks to fill the following positions.

Administration:

Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management


The Director of Admission and Enrollment Management reports to the Head of School (HOS) and is a member of Administration. The DOA works with the HOS to establish a culture of year round recruiting and retention among all members of the RCDS community – faculty, staff, parents and alumni. The DOA supports the mission of the school by ensuring that it is communicated effectively and working collaboratively with all constituencies.

Core Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Job Responsibilities

· Establishes and maintains best practices and continual assessment of same in conjunction with HOS, Administration, Division Directors, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Board of Trustees (BOT).

· In collaboration with Administration and the BOT, develops short term and long term strategies and enrollment goals. Leads efforts to formulate long range strategic admission, re-enrollment/retention policies to support same.

· Continually evaluates and redesigns where appropriate all aspects of admission and marketing in conjunction with the Director of Communication to maintain capacity enrollment of qualified students and help all associated with the school to understand good marketing.

· Provide enrollment forecasting using empirical content/data (demographics and economic/behavioral trends): indicates predictors of success. Provides meaningful benchmarking.

· Integrates all aspects of the school’s enrollment, re-enrollment and retention process through graduation including the implementation and evaluation of effective student recruitment and selection; coordinates efforts across all grade levels from Nursery through 8th grade.

· Prepares reports on institutional progress toward meeting short and long term goals and analysis of student body and yearly activity to Administration, BOT and faculty; report to the BOT as called upon.

· Manages the electronic data for admission/retention and recommends policies to optimize ongoing use.

· Supervises and delegates work to Admission Assistant.

· Creates and implements a tuition assistance program that effectively leverages merit or need based student aid to fulfill the school’s mission and overall net revenue, and works collaboratively with the Tuition Assistance Committee, consisting of the Director of Admission, the Chief Financial Officer, and the Head of School, to allocate tuition assistance.

· Maintains outreach to feeder schools to foster ongoing relationships; seeks new markets.

Teacher of Language Arts and Literature

The Rumson Country Day is seeking a teacher of Language Arts and Literature. In addition to proven skills in teaching reading, writing, public speaking, and literary analysis, this teacher must evince a love of working with young people. The teacher will serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students. Our teachers also work with children beyond the classroom as activity sponsors, coaches, and trip leaders. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while a Master’s degree is desired. Independent School experience is preferred.

Teacher of World Language
The Rumson Country Day is seeking a teacher of Spanish and French. In addition to fluency in both languages and relevant pedagogical knowledge, this teacher must evince a love of working with young people. The ability to teach different ages is required, as our world language teachers teach in both the Lower and Upper Schools. The teacher will serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students. Our teachers also work with children beyond the classroom as activity sponsors, coaches, and trip leaders. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while a Master’s degree is desired. Teacher of Technology, Shop and Coding

The Rumson Country Day is seeking a teacher of Technology, Shop and Coding, both required courses at RCDS. This full-time position requires dual competencies. The first involves managing our school shop, a fully equipped woodshop with the versatility to teach robotics, electronics, and other technology classes. The second involves teaching coding to our Lower and Upper school students. In addition to relevant skills and pedagogical knowledge, this teacher must evince a love of working with young people. Our teachers also work with children beyond the classroom as activity sponsors, coaches, and trip leaders. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while a Master’s degree is desired. Independent School experience is preferred.

Teacher of Shop

The Rumson Country Day is seeking a teacher of Shop. This part-time position involves managing our school shop, a fully equipped woodshop with the versatility to teach robotics. The teacher will collaborate with other teachers to integrate the shop into the larger RCDS curriculum. In addition to relevant skills and pedagogical knowledge, this teacher must evince a love of working with young people.

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while a Master’s degree is desired. Independent School experience is preferred.

Part-time After School Administrator

We are seeking someone to organize the Aftercare Program at RCDS. Duties include:Keeping track of daily emails from parents regarding students attending Aftercare (N-8) Keeping track of hours students attend and arrange for billing accordinglyOrganizing the monthly calendar of aftercare providers, their hours to submit payroll to the Business officeProviding structure and support for older students to finish HomeworkEngaging all students in age-appropriate play.Part-time After School CaregiverWe are seeking someone to provide after school care to a group of students who vary from
PreSchool through 8th grade. Duties include:Providing structure and support for older students to finish homeworkEngaging all students in age-appropriate playBoth positions: 3:00-6:00 pm Monday-Thursday, 12:00-2:30 pm on Fridays. Days and times will vary based on need of the service.
