The Rumson County Day School is delighted to welcome Rosalind Wiseman, a highly esteemed author and speaker, to campus on Tuesday, April 2 for an enlightening parenting discussion on fostering positive relationships among young people and navigating the challenges of raising children in today's complex social landscape.
Wiseman is the author of nine books, including Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World; the book that was the basis for the movie and Broadway Musical Mean Girls, and Masterminds & Wingmen: Helping Our Boys Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends, and the New Rules of Boy World, which was awarded Best Parenting Book by Books for a Better Life.
Over a two-day visit to RCDS, Wiseman will work with parents, faculty, and students. On Tuesday, April 2 from 7-8 p.m. RCDS invites all area parents and guardians to join in an insightful and engaging evening, fostering a sense of community and shared learning. Wiseman’s adult presentation aims to equip parents with practical strategies to guide their children through common yet complex social situations and give effective suggestions to break through communication barriers. The following day, Wiseman will delve into the intricacies of social group dynamics with RCDS’s 5th-8th graders.
“In our commitment to support and empower parents, RCDS plans to welcome more experts in the near future for an ongoing speaker series,” says Head of School Carson T. Smith. “The series will address a wide range of subjects relevant to N-8 parenting and education, create an open forum for dialogue, share insights, and foster connections within our community.”
