About 350 grandparents and special friends visited The Rumson Country Day School on Friday, October 11 to immerse themselves in a day in the life of a student at RCDS.
Head of School Jayne Geiger opened the day to emphasize how grandparents are so grand and how special it is to have them in our lives. She encouraged our grandparents to continue to share the unique special moments that cannot be recreated on a screen, like playing a board game, baking, gardening, telling a story or reading together. These moments have an influence on grandchild that will transcend time she explained.
After Ms. Geiger’s opening remarks and a lovely performance of the school song, visitors shadowed their grandchildren and friends to experience a typical school day first-hand. Teachers eagerly welcome students and their visitors into the classroom for interactive lessons, games and memory making.
RCDS will host Grandparents & Special Friends Day again next Fall to continue the special tradition of sharing the unique RCDS experience with loved ones and to create more memories that will be cherished for years to come.
