Head of School Welcome

Welcome to The Rumson Country Day School

Dear Families,

Thank you for your interest in The Rumson Country Day School. Academic excellence, our emphasis on critical life skills, character development, and our strong community form the foundation for the truly great independent education that we are proud to provide at RCDS.

Our faculty members are experts in their respective fields who are passionate about their disciplines. Our teachers also inspire in their students a love of learning, and they are dedicated to helping each child progress academically, socially and emotionally throughout their students’ time here.

Whether a child needs extra encouragement or a greater challenge, they will find it at RCDS. Small class sizes create an inclusive learning environment in which our teachers provide differentiated instruction and form long-lasting, authentic relationships with their students that foster the family culture that is unique to our educational experience.

We strive every day to inspire curious, happy, energetic students who exemplify the School’s Four Pillars – Kind, Honest, Responsible, Respectful. Our alumni are regularly recognized for their strength of character and their leadership and are among the most academically prepared, and self-motivated students at their chosen secondary schools. These qualities enable RCDS graduates to thrive at some of the most selective high schools and colleges in the country.

You can learn more about our educational experience by joining us for a virtual information session or scheduling an in-person tour.  We look forward to getting to know you and your child.

Respectfully,
Carson T. Smith
