Debate - This course will focus on the art of public speaking as well as the art of debate. Students will conduct research, compose speeches, using their research and public speaking skills to develop and deliver persuasive arguments as a member of a team.

Stay on Your Game - Using games, challenging puzzles, and problems, students will hone the mathematical skills previously introduced in a traditional classroom setting and test out new. NOTE: This is an early session from 8:00 - 9:00 am each day.

The Carmody School is opening its doors and expertise to students from all families in the community. Although our school-year program specializes in working with students with a variety of language-based learning differences, our summer program allows our experts to enhance employ multi-sensory instruction to meet the needs of all learners. The program will run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am-1:30 pm for six weeks beginning June 26-August 4. Parents may choose how many and what weeks they would like their child to attend.

Housed in our Early Childhood Learning Center, the RCDS Early Childhood Adventures Summer Camp offers a dynamic theme based program. Integrating social studies, science, literature, math, music, drama, art, crafts, and movement, young children are afforded the opportunity to explore, discover, and make connections. Free play, socialization, academic enrichment, projects and technology blend together to provide an exciting, fun-filled summer experience. All sessions meet from 9:00 to 1:30 and include snack and lunch with an optional 1:30 to 3:00 extended day.

Drama - Peter Pan. Here’s your chance to perform in a full-scale musical production or a concert of Disney and Broadway show tunes. Along the way you will create scenery, develop your acting and singing techniques through theatre games and vocal exercises, and reinforce essential skills such as reading for a purpose, listening and following directions, and public speaking. NOTE: This is a two-week program.

Miss Weiss and Mrs. Rathemacher will lead this group of students entering Beginners through 5th grade as they perform songs from beloved Hollywood musicals including Singing in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins.

Join Mr. Greco for an live production of the popular musical Shrek. This production will include all aspects of a typical drama experience: auditions, rehearsals, technical training, and of course, fun! NOTE: This is a two-week program.

Artistic Adventures

Students will explore how art illuminates & brightens up the world that we live in. We will create art inspired by the impressionist painters and their studies of light, looking to nature for inspiration. Students will use materials to explore color, light, and shadow to explore these themes

Minecraft - Everyone loves Minecraft, but at our camp, students will approach the game from a new angle, and are empowered to discover the underlying mechanics of the game in a collaborative environment.

Lego Design - This course is designed for boys and girls with no robotics experience. The camp will use Lego robots to give the first introduction to robotics. Students will work with structurally-sound building techniques and basic robotics programming using the software.

Girls Rock! - Girls Rock! Camp is a week-long summer day camp program for girls entering 5th grade to those entering 9th grade. The program offers instrument instruction, workshops, songwriting/band practice, live performances by visiting artists, and culminates in a showcase concert.
